College Success for Single Mothers

The College Success for Single Mothers project, led by the National College Transition Network at World Education, in partnership with Achieving the Dream and PERG Learning, supported eight community colleges as they collected data from and about parenting students using the Family Friendly Campus Toolkit. Each college, with support from project leaders, then created and implemented a data-driven action plan.  Examples of data-driven action plan strategies include:

  • Increasing the visibility of parenting students
  • Improving the availability and visibility of resources
  • Creating spaces and events to welcome students with children
  • Creating community for parenting students
  • Reviewing policies with parenting students in mind
  • Improving data systems
